Raven Wood hails from Greensboro, North Carolina. Raven is 23 years
old. She grew up in the small town of Thomasville, North Carolina.
Raven has been doing female impersonation for almost three years. She
currently travels all over North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia,
Tennessee and Georgia. Raven has won 3 titles since she emerged on
the scene. While performing you may catch her characterizations of
Kelly Clarkson, Mariah Carey, Gloria Estefan and Patsy Cline. She
enjoys the stages and tries her best to entertain the audience that
have paid to see the show.
Raven is currently working on goals of becoming a national title
holder in the near future. Aside from entertaining and competing,
Raven believes her main goal is to bring the community together as a
whole. Giving back to the community is never enough!
Raven is constantly fighting against stereotypes and labeling of not
only female impersonators, but the G.L.B.T. community. She feels that
most people do not understand how diverse the G.L.B.T. population is.
She also regrets that most of the G.L.B.T. population discriminates
against each other. While most people only think of female
impersonators as flamboyant, feminine "Queens", Raven while on stage
is Raven, but off stage she is Anthony.
Raven joined the Alternative Resources of the Triad Board of
Directors in May of 2006. Raven is the liaison between the Warehouse
29 Club and the Board of Director of A.R.T. as well as the national
spokes person of the community for A.R.T.
Greensboro is home for Raven and with the support of her family,
friends and fans, we know she will go far.
