QCYNT (pronounced “Q-cent”) is a networking group for LGBTQA student groups, their members, and other LGBTQA youth and college persons within the Triad area of North Carolina. We are a project of Alternative Resources of the Triad.
MISSION STATEMENT: The mission of the Queer College Youth Network of the Triad (QCYNT) is to promote communication between LGBTQA student groups, to encourage and support collaborative action between LGBTQA student groups, and to encourage social interaction between the groups, their members and other LGBTQA youth. QCYNT serves the Greater Piedmont Triad area of North Carolina including the Alamance, Caswell, Davidson, Davie, Forsyth, Guilford, Montgomery, Randolph, Rockingham, Stokes, Surry and Yadkin Counties.
The goal of QCYNT is to increase the amount of interaction between the LGBTQA student groups at the various universities and colleges within the Triad (must be eight-teen (18) years of age or older). By networking and working together, the LGBTQA groups will be able to better promote LGBTQA issues and will be able to better create awareness, tolerance and acceptance.
By being a part of QCYNT, the various LGBTQA student groups are also helping to contribute to the greater LGBTQA community as well as the Piedmont/Triad Community.
