Dear Friends of the Community,
We need your help! Alternative Resources of the Triad (ART) needs the
support of community members like yourself. ART was founded to
support the changing needs of th GLBTQ community and has been an
integral part of the Triad community since 1988. Moreover, ART is
around today due to the support from civic minded individuals like
yourself. Unfortunately, it takes money to keep our organization in
operation. So, ART is asking for a monetary donation from you to help
keep our programs running.
You may or may not be aware that in the past ART ran the Gay &
Lesbian Hot Line. Due to under utilization of th Hot Line, ART
decided to launch OutGreensboro.com. Our web site,
is now receiving more than 43,000 hits per month and that number is
still growing in usage and content. The web site offers people a "one
stop shopping place" for Triad GLBTQ information. On the site you
will find a Business/Organization Referral system, notice of
community news about local events and more. There is never a charge
to be listed on or to use our site to any person, business or organization.
ART other programs include:
Queer College Youth Network of the Triad (QCYNT)
Greensboro, Out at the Movies!
Triad Pride 2008!
The goal of QCYNT is to foster interaction between the GLBTQ student
groups at various universities and colleges within the Triad. By
working together, the GLBTQ student groups will be better able to
promote GLBTQ issues and thus be better able to promote awareness,
tolerance an acceptance for all.
Greensboro, Out at the Movies! is a continuing venture that utilizes
the media arts as a tool to develop and promote communication among
the diverse populations of the Triad by presenting films and videos
by, about, or of interest to the gay, lesbian, bisexual, intersex,
questioning and transgender community as well as their allies.
Greensboro, Out at the Movies! brings the community together by
showing films which represents the GLBTQ population in a positive
light as well: as being light-hearted and fun.
These are just some of the great things that ART does for our
community. Each program serves an important niche in our diverse
community and these programs reach out to more people than one might
imagine. These programs work to bring the community together and to
support all members of the GLBTQ community in the Triad. To help
ensure that all of our programs remain in place as a service to the
GLBTQ community and it allies, please consider making a monetary
donation to ART now.
